Words cannot express the heartfelt sorrow of the passing of our mother, Lena Lawson on Thursday, April 4, 2024 in Salmon Arm, BC. We are assured that she is with God. She struggled with her health the last two years and is finally at peace.
Lena is survived by her children Bill (Gayle) Ackerman, Patty (Phil) Gauthier and Al Ackerman; grandchildren Cindy Anderson, Jamie Anderson, Stuart (Laurie) Ackerman, Mark (Rosie) Ackerman, Robert (Karen) Gauthier, Simone (Gordon) Adams, Dusk (Ashley) Ackerman, Megan Ackerman and Alex Ackerman; 25 great-grandchildren; sisters Irene Toews and Diane Dubois and brother-in-law Lorne Anderson as well as many other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents Marcel and Helene Dubois; husband Robert; daughter Edith Anderson; siblings Marie, Albert, Cecile, Clamois, Adele, Clarence and Robert.
She was born in Haywood, MB and then later in life moved on to AB and then BC. She loved music, playing the guitar and piano, treasuring times with family. She loved going out for drives, dinner and the casino. Her faith in God was very important to her, giving her strength for all of life’s challenges. Thank you to Piccadilly Terrace Staff and friends. Thank you to the doctors and nurses for their wonderful care, especially the health care workers. She appreciated everyone.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
