Jock was a true Columbia Valley native. He was born and raised in Invermere BC where he graduated from high school. After graduation he traveled to Australia. When he returned home, he went to Technical school.
Upon returning to Invermere he did various jobs in mining, construction and electronics. At the urging of his brother-in-law Trev he moved up the north BC coast to work logging road construction. Returning to the Columbia Valley he co-owned two service stations, Radium and then in Windermere. Jock then moved to Golden and worked for Radio Shack at Taks store; finishing with his favorite, High Country Communications, for 35 years where he made many lifelong friends along the way.
25 years ago, he met Susan, the love of his life. Together they worked and built High Country Communications to the business it is today. They shared a love of traveling, music, playing pool, snacks and a glass of good wine with good friends. Their love of German Shepards brought them three great dogs; Spenser, Wendy and Sunny girl.
Jock was very proud of his three sons Tom (Lillian) grandchildren John and Anna of Seattle, twin boys Joe (Victoria) granddaughter Sophia of Australia, and James of Invermere. Survived by wife Susan, sister Judy and many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents Thomas and Winnifred and sister Christine.
Throughout his life, from childhood to present he made many valuable lifelong friends.
In honour of Jocks memory donations can be made to Little Mittens Animal Rescue Association or The Cancer Society.
