Lorne Charles David

It is with the heaviest of hearts, his family announces the passing of Lorne David, after a long, hard battle against cancer. His courage and strength throughout it all, remains a testament to the kind of courage and strength that he exhibited every day of his life.

He was predeceased by his son Warren in 2002 as well as his parents Fred and Phyllis in 2006 and 2007, respectively.

He leaves behind to mourn his passing, his two daughters Tamara (Adrian) and Janelle, his three grandsons Dayton, Dawson and Austin which were his pride and joy. Also, his two older brothers Lloyd (Yanka) and Cliff and his younger sister Yvonne (Marty). Lorne is also survived by his first wife Debbie and his third wife Donna.

Lorne was so grateful for the wonderful care he received in the hospital. The family would like to acknowledge and give many thanks to all the wonderful and caring doctors, nurses and staff, especially to those running the cancer clinic; you kept Lorne’s spirits high and made such a difference in his approach to treatment. He admired everyone’s commitment to showing up every day to help total strangers get through the scariest times of their lives.

We would also like to thank the people at Bowers Funeral Service, who are so gentle, caring and compassionate and have made some very hard days, a whole lot easier.

And last but certainly not least, all his friends and neighbors who didn’t waste any time to offer both he and Donna help and support in whichever capacity was needed and continue to do so, from the entire family, we thank you and love you.

Lorne requested no service, but the family would like to extend an invitation to join them in a celebration of life at his favorite place, the backyard in Sicamous on B.C. day long weekend.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Shuswap Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
