Patricia Abbott Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of Patricia “Patty” Abbott on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.
She lived her life with exuberance, creativity, and an incredible ability to make a garden flourish and bake the world’s greatest cinnamon buns.
Patty was hard-working and conscientious, and wherever she lived, she was known for her friendly and helpful nature.
Patty never needed to be in the spotlight, nor did she ever seek recognition for the help she gave, but she was always ready to step in, lend a hand, and be part of whatever was needed.
Patty was a shining light whose loving presence, warmth, energy, and generosity made her family and all those she touched feel valued, supported, and cared for, especially when they were facing challenges.
Patty remained in close contact with her sisters’ children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, often sharing funny memes, thoughtful messages, and words of encouragement. She even got a kick out of the fact that her sister’s 11-year-old great-grandchild would phone her in the middle of the night just to chat.
Patty never seemed to slow down. Her retirement years in Enderby were so full of activity and laughter with her many friends, especially those in her golfing community.
She will be deeply missed by her beloved partner of many years, Rick Blurton of Enderby, her sister, Carol Paul of Kitimat, and her brother, Darryl Sand of Mackenzie, along with the many family members and friends whose lives were touched by her love, kindness, and friendship.
A memorial service will be held at the Birchdale Golf Course on Saturday, May 9th, 2026, at 11:00 am.
Patty’s memory will be cherished always.
