Trudy Gail Hall

Trudy Gail Hall (Garbutt) passed away at the age of 66 on January 15, 2023. Trudy was born in Salmon Arm, BC on December 17, 1956. Being a lifelong member of Salmon Arm, she loved being involved in the community and its history. This was evident in her 20+ year involvement with the RJ Haney Heritage Village and Museum and recent role as vice president of the board. Trudy was also involved with the Mount Ida Historical Group that published the book “The Many Faces of Mount Ida”. 

She was the type of person who loved making connections with people and had many friendships. Her family meant everything to her, she was incredibly proud of her children and grandchildren, and loved it best when they were all together. She enjoyed camping with great friends, travel, music, gardening, curling, and having a beer. 

Trudy will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and many friends as she touched so many in her life. She is survived by her two children: Jana (Ian) Brigden and Joel (Lindsay) Hall; grandchildren: Sophie, Sadie, Luke, Caleb and Rayna; siblings: Keith (Phyllis) Garbutt, Terry (Cheryle) Garbutt and Dianne (Cliff) Davies. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. Trudy was predeceased by her loving husband of 36 years, Bruce and her parents, Ronald and Evelyn (nee Minion) Garbutt.

We would like to thank family and friends for their support and kindness through this difficult time. Thank you to the Vancouver General Hospital who provided compassion and wonderful care and to Bowers Funeral Service, especially Jack, for your special touch and caring ways.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Salmon Arm Recreation Centre on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 10:00 AM. 

Memorial donations may be made to the Shuswap Community Foundation, PO Box 624, Salmon Arm, BC, V1E 4N7 for the Heritage Park in memory of Bruce and Trudy Hall.
