Zenia Osadchuk

Zenia Olga Osadchuk (Zenie)  passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at the age of 93 years.

She is survived by her son Greg (Mary) Osadchuk of Salmon Arm, grand daughter Cristina of Paris, France and grand daughter Joanna of Salmon Arm.

Born June 16, 1928 at Trail, B.C. she was the eldest of four children. After high school graduation she attended nursing school at the Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster.

As a graduate of the class of 1949 she returned to Trail where she began her nursing career as an operating room nurse at the Trail Hospital. It was in the operating room that she would meet her future husband Joseph (Joe). He was brought into the hospital for an emergency appendectomy on New Year's Day.

Married in April of 1951 she continued her nursing career, later moving to the CS Williams Medical Clinic in Trail. In 1953 their only child, Greg, was born. Her husband Joe was employed by the Standard Oil Company of British Columbia (Chevron) and in the spring of 1959 he accepted a transfer to Salmon Arm to manage the bulk oil plant there.

With the move to Salmon Arm Zenia made the decision to change careers. She spent the rest of her working life running the office at the bulk plant. They both retired in the early 1980s and were together 44 years until Joe's sudden passing in January or 1995.
